Both of my parents were avid “at home” bird watchers, and had many feeders around our yard. They loved to share with us kids, what they learned through this hobby, so I grew up loving and appreciating birds.
A part of the enjoyment of wintering in South Texas is the new varieties of birds we get to experience there.
I was fortunate to catch this shot of a Great Kiskadee at one of the many birding locations in the RGV, and was pleased that I also caught a decent reflection.
Thanks for your kind compliment on my photo, Lenore! I’ve just recently downloaded the Merlin Bird ID app. It works great and is very user friendly. You record the sound and the app ID’s the bird.

I have three feeders near my den window, by the wood fence and trees for the birds to hide. It’s a buffet all day long. Cardinals, Blue Jays, Buntings, Waxwings, Sparrows, Blackbirds, Bluebirds, Wren, Woodpecker, Dove, and more. Crows, and now the Roadrunners, have discovered the peanuts I put on the ground for the Blue Jays. Nice picture.
