Friday Freestyling: Muffinality Tests

As I was cutting my freshly-baked muffin for sampling (I sample everything I bake), I wondered if the way I cut and eat my muffin says anything about my personality.

I was greatly amused in my research because other bloggers and instagrammers have already broached this subject – no doubt tik-tokkers have too, but I don’t use that platform. There are also many muffin personality tests that come up with Google research on the subject.

Who knew that how you cut and eat your muffin, as well as your preferred kind of muffin says so much about who you are?

My all-time favourite is the wheat bran muffin, and this one isn’t even listed in the type of muffin/personality list. I wonder what that means? Wheat bran is unheard of where we winter in south Texas, so I take a winter’s supply of it along each fall.

Apparently (according to one blogger), the way I cut and eat my muffin indicates that I’m a realist and am getting things done. That post also says, that as a 50-50 person, I don’t care much about food except that it’s for fuel. Hmmm. And I thought I cut it that way because it’s more aesthetically pleasing on my plate.

What’s your favourite muffin and how do you cut/eat it?

Oh that is crazy. It is almost a new age way of reading tea leaves! Haha. Pure entertainment. Btw, I rarely cut a muffin up at home; I’ll just bite into it!! I am sure they would interpret a lot into that too. Why do people not eat bran in Texas?

That’s hilarious about the new age tea leaf reading, Amanda πŸ˜‚. I’m not sure about what your muffin method might mean in terms of personality – maybe that you’re a nonconformist? πŸ˜‰I don’t know if the lack of wheat bran is the same all over Texas but it’s sure true where we winter in the Rio Grande Valley in the Deep South of the state. Enjoy your day!

Haha the Deep south must use other methods to keep regular! Lol!
And, I might have to reframe my opinion of the muffin Oracle and consult it more often as I am a bit non-confirming!!

I am not a huge fan of muffins but I made a variety of them a few weeks back and shared them with my daughter and granddaughters. They all like them, but granddaughter Maddy said the raspberry ones were the best muffins she had tasted in her entire (16yr old) life. ☺️

Well done, Anne!! It’s a feat to get that kind of compliment out of a teenager πŸ‘. The only ones I truly like are bran muffins. All of the others, (except for cornbread or oat muffins) taste like cake to me. Have a great evening!

Funny this action is analysed πŸ™‚ I don’t eat muffins. I got put off one time when a work colleague gave me a homemade one full of bran. I ate it on the train on my way up north for a trip and was up and down half the night with a bad tummy!

I’m sorry to hear about your reaction to the bran, Lana. Maybe the cake type muffins would suit you better (blueberry, etc). Enjoy the rest of your day!

That is very interesting. I like to eat my muffins with a fork! Outside in. I wonder what that means for my personality. HA

I have to say this is the first time I’ve heard of that approach, Charla … so I’m going to say that it identifies you as unique πŸ’— Have a great day!

Years ago when it was popular, at least in our area, to test your personality with DISC (I can’t remember what they stand for), colors, etc. we went to a lecture by a famous person who was doing lots of research on personalities. We were sitting in the front row and during a break he walked down and asked to look at our tests. He saw mine and said, “You have a very unique personality.” I didn’t fit into any of his categories!!! So, you are right! HAHA

Looks good! I slice mine horizontally and then put the butter on. I reassemble the muffin, and the butter melts. I have a recipe for microwave bran muffins. They are delicious!

That’s a great idea to reassemble them to melt the butter. Have a great day, Betty!
