It’s That Day …

Happy 3.14 to all of the mathematicians out there!

Pi day is the only day all year that I bake pies.

Hubs likes homemade pie a wee bit too much, so I always wait until March 14 to bake a couple for him.

This year, it’s homemade coconut cream from scratch.

I predict that at least one of the three will be completely gone by morning.

Sounds like a great tradition – making pies on pi day! Hope hubby enjoyed the pie – I am sure he did!

I can’t take credit for the idea because I started that tradition a few years ago, after I saw others on social media doing the same. It’s fitting because pies are circular. He’s definitely enjoying them, Betty – one down, two to go.

We have no such thing occasion in the UK since we apply the calendar system correctly – the date we are on THEN the month we are in 😀 Pie looks gorgeous … on any day of the year!

I smiled when you said “correctly”, Lana. There are many different ways of expressing a date. In most applications it goes from biggest unit to smallest ie: year/month/day. That was the system we were taught in nursing. 😊

My former husband bought an expensive watch whilst we were in NYC then realised the date issue … and took an age to get a refund the next day as there was technically nothing wrong with it!

I’ve not heard of Pi day, but what a great excuse to bake pies. And that pie does look delicious!

Thank you, Carole. Pi day has been a thing here since 1988 because the date (3.14) aligns with the geometric numbers for Pi.
