2016 – An Aircraft Extravaganza

After our day at Tombstone, AZ, our next stop was the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, AZ.

That’s hubs in my feature photo, anxious to get the visit started.

My father-in-law was a pilot overseas in WW2, so this place was high on the “must see” list for hubs.

We arrived around 0930 and stayed until after 1600 hours. The 24 hour clock (aka military time) was used all through my nursing career, and it seemed appropriate for this post.

In truth, I enjoyed this massive place too. While hubs read every single word on every single sign, I was in my glory snapping pics.

Here a few of the over 150 photos I took there:

Kevin and I never get tired of looking at airplanes. And the stories that go with them are fascinating.

They sure are, Charla! We visit aircraft museums whenever we can.

I remember seeing acres and acres of military planes in Tucson, but we missed going to the museum. Maybe next trip. Great photos!

Thanks, Lenore! The museum is very impressive. If you like history, I’m sure you’d love it. They also do tram tours and the driver gives a great recap of those acres and acres of planes. Have a fab evening!

Nice set of photos, Terry. Kudos to your husband for reading those plaques. I might read a few, but I lose interest quickly. I’m more of a visual guy when it comes to museums.

No matter where we visit, Edward, hubs is keen to read everything there is available to read, and he retains a lot of it too! Thanks for the compliment on the photos. Have a great day!

It’s definitely a “boy” place. I have to admit though, that I enjoyed it too. Have a great day, Anne!

Sounds like a really enjoyable day and a great memory! And how compatible that he read everything and you took pictures! My dad was in the Air Force during WWII. He fixed the communication equipment on the planes.

It’s a great memory indeed, Betty! Hubs’ dad wasn’t a fighter pilot. He flew the generals and other high ranking officers to the war zones. He was overseas four years, and thankfully, returned home safely. Fixing communication equipment, as your dad did, would definitely be an important job. Have a fab day!
