A Necessary Detour

Recently, I’ve been hearing and reading about an exercise trend, called the Japanese Walking Method.

I decided that it’s more appropriate for me (while I continue with recovery from the accident injuries) vs returning to my previous power walking too soon.

So, for now anyways, it’s a bit of a detour, but a worthwhile one, according to my research.

You can read more about this walking method here .

It sure is, Randy. According to my Fitbit and Map My Walk Apps … I’m burning the same calories with this method as I did with power walking, so it’s a much easier way to get the same benefits. Have a great day!

I don’t know how consistent it is, but walking Molly is a constant slow, fast, occasional sudden stops and frequently sideway lurches. 🙄

Thanks, Lana. It’s working very well! Instead of timing the 3 minute intervals, I’ve set up playlists that switch back and forth between slow and fast tempo songs. I’ve always paced my walks with music so this was a good solution for me. Have a fab day!
