Viva Las Vegas!

At Madame Tussaud’s wax museum in Las Vegas, most of the figures are so life-like, that I actually excused myself when I bumped into one, thinking it was a real person.

I knew that this guy was real in memory only, but I still enjoyed striking a pose with his wax doppelgänger.

Lovely picture, Terry. Have you ever seen the film of his life story? So sad

Thank you! I’ve seen several of documentaries and movies about his life, Carole. Yes, sad and amazing all at the same time!

My mother loved Elvis. I remember clearly my dad shouting up the stairs “Pat! Elvis has died!” and the many tears afterwards 😦

Even though I was a child when he first became popular, I loved him too, Lana. I don’t know if you’ve ever listened to his gospel songs. Although I enjoy all of his early music, in my mind, these songs were when his voice was the purest and most perfect.

I heard, from a cousin that lives in Vegas, that Elvis is alive and working in one of those Elvis all night wedding chapels. He swears he sees Ann Margret around town all the time. Nice picture, Viva Las Vegas.

Well … If the King was still alive, he’d be doing a darn good job to be still holding down a job at age 90, Phil! I was certain I saw him barbecuing something in a yard behind Graceland when we visited his grave behind the mansion. 🤷‍♀️

I’ve got a good E story coming soon. In the 60s, my band mate and I were in and out of Memphis because he had family in Tunica, MS. His cousin, Danny, played with a band called The Gentry’s ( Keep On Dancing) and he knew Elvis, a little bit. He tried to set up a visit to Graceland when E was at home, but it never worked out. Bummer, all the way around. Today, Tunica is nothing but a gambling town.

Yes, we were to Tunica too on one of our trips out that way. No luck but lots of fun! I look forward to your E story, Phil.

Thanks, Betty! This was in 2016, so a few years before I lost the 40 lbs that needed to come off. My cousin and I had a blast at Mme Tussaud’s.
