Nature’s Entertainers

Hubs and I enjoy hours of entertainment watching squirrels, and that’s a good thing because our little prairie city houses a large population of these frolicking and mischievous little critters.

I have always thought squirrels were kind of cute.

Indeed they are entertaining. It’s the same at our house as well.

Do you feed them, Randy? Lots of folks around here do, so aside from a lot of trees in the city, I’m sure the never ending supply of peanuts is incentive to stick around.

Yes, we sometimes have six or eighth of them in our yard at a time. We feed them from time to time.
Usually dried corn on the cob. Screwed to a board on a post. A few times the squirrels managed to steal the corn cob off the feeder. Sure is funny watching them trying to carry a large corn cob up a tree. We have also had a hard time keeping them of the bird feeders. Finally solved that problem with a slinky attached to the feeder pole. Now they sit in the tree and look in at us through our patio door.

That photo, oh, just gave me a great chuckle! You caught that little one mid-aerobatics it seems. HA Yes, they are great entertainment.

I’m happy the photo gave you a chuckle, Charla. When they get chattering and chasing each other around, they’re great fun!
