Did you know that there are two varieties of Snowbirds in Canada?
There are the ones like hubs and myself who love to travel south during our cold winters.
The much more impressive Snowbirds, officially known as the 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, make up the military aerobatics/air show flight demonstration team of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
The Moose Jaw Air Show is an annual event where this team is featured. They also do formation fly-bys for special occasions and events all across Canada and have flown in air shows in the USA.
The Snowbirds train at and are based out of CFB Moose Jaw. This monument to them stands at the Moose Jaw visitor information centre.
“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”
Leonardo da Vinci
Something else I learned about Moose Jaw! I never heard of these Snowbirds! Now, regarding the quote, I do like my feet planted firmly on the ground! But to each, their own!

The Snowbirds are truly something to watch! I prefer my feet on the ground as well, Betty – that said, I’ve also enjoyed flying from time to time. I’m not inclined to fly these days with Covid. Thanks for reading and commenting. Enjoy the rest of your Friday!

I think I would need to be a big migratory bird to find flying ‘natural.:

Flying certainly isn’t for everyone, Jean. It’s not my favourite mode of travel because I love to see things along the way. When we have to fly though, I do enjoy it. Thanks for reading and commenting! Enjoy your day!
