A Tad Wet

Yesterday’s Labour Day rainfall here was intense, causing extreme flooding throughout our prairie city.

When I went to our balcony windows to watch the torrential downpour, I spied this fellow taking shelter under the eves of our garage.

From the looks of him, I guessed that he was flooded out of his warren.

He stayed in position for over two hours, which is very unusual for rabbits.

I watched him clean and preen his paws, ears, and nose.

Finally, he was looking dry, fluffy and healthy again.

Send some rain to us please. Rabbits are special. They visit my backyard at night and eat on the clover and other subbulant plants I leave for them.

I like rabbits too. Our jackrabbits are huge compared to the little cottontails that scamper around our RGV park all winter. I’m always alarmed by the size of our rabbits when we return home. This one was big but not nearly as big as some we see around here.

Thanks so much, Lenore! I’m very much enjoying that new lens and am anxious for more opportunities to practice with it. Have a fab rest of your day!

I heard it was crazy. Why does it have to rain so much during harvest? Ugh.

Our daughter and her husband farm near Melfort and they haven’t even been able to get into the fields yet. Every time it looks dry enough, they head out and it rains again. Crazy year for rain, Bernie.

Yes, I was sorry for him too and wondered how many others were swimming out of their warrens.

Yes, especially the little bunnies. Hopefully, their mama was able to get them to a safe area.

I am too, Betty. He finally wandered away after he was clean and dry. Have a great day!
