    Ha, I zoomed in and went straight to ‘high voltage, danger’ too — and seeing it spelled out in Papiamento alongside the Dutch is a lovely little Curacao detail. Half the fun of travel is puzzling out the signs you can’t fully read. That warm woodgrain wall behind it is very island, too.

      Yes, Bernie. The top is Dutch and means High Voltage Danger of Death. The bottom, I believe is in the Papiamentu language with a Spanish twist – meaning the same thing as the Dutch warning. Curaçao is an independent country in the kingdom of the Netherlands, thus the Dutch on almost all signage. Papiamentu is their local language and it combines several languages. We vacationed there for 2 weeks in 2013 and loved every second. Enjoy your evening!

    I could read the Spanish version. Is the other Dutch? Where was this? In Canada? That’s interesting that it wasn’t in French and English.
