Happiness Is … Earning Rewards

I hinted at this in a previous post and it finally arrived last week!

The Moment 240 mm mobile lens was yet another reward for myself.

On May 11, I achieved three smoke-free years after an almost 54 year habit.

Each year on my anniversary, I spoil myself with items from various wish lists. This year, it was the mobile phone camera gear list that got fulfilled.

This lens works with the 4x native zoom in my iPhone and creates a true optical 8x zoom.

The phone does have an 8x zoom, but it’s not a true optical zoom, so although great photos can be captured with that, there are a few issues with clarity – especially with birds and wildlife.

After I’ve practiced more with this lens and my new mini tripod (if it’ll hold the weight of my phone with this lens attached), I’ll share a few photos in a future post.

For size reference, here’s the lens in my hand:

It’s well made and heavy, so a tripod (which I supplied from my wish list ahead of the arrival of the lens) is definitely needed.

I just may have to “borrow” your reward yourself idea! I like that lens

I borrowed the reward yourself idea from someone else, Darryl and it works like a charm, so borrow away! Have a great evening!

Awesome! It did cross my mind, but for some reason I went with the remote shutter. Looking forward to seeing pictures with the new lens.

Congrats on quitting! It was the hardest thing I ever did but sure glad I got through it! Sixteen years ago for me. Those mini add ons for your phone are amazing. 💞

Thanks so much, Lana. I’m saving far more money annually by not smoking than what I’m spending in rewards, so I can easily justify carrying on with it. Of course, the health and self-esteem benefits are the best rewards of all. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Years ago, my father in law came to collect Franc and I from the airport after we had been in California for three weeks. In that time he had kicked smoking after his doctor scared him and the positive change in his face in that short time was radical!

This was a great reward, Terry, and I look forward to wonderful pictures of birds and wildlife. Maybe butterflies, too. 🙂 The best part is your three smoke-free years! Congrats on that achievement and your reward!

Thanks so much, Betty. I’m guessing you have around the same amount of time in with no Coca Cola. Congratulations to you too! Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Thanks, Terry. Now for full disclosure I occasionally have a soda – on rare occasions. Like if I need some caffeine. And I’ll occasionally treat myself to an Orange soda. I have recently tried the Poppi brand of soda. I’d say I’ve had maybe 6 sodas in the last year. So, no reward for me. 🙂

I had forgotten that it was all sodas you were trying to stay away from, Betty. 6 in a year is not bad at all!
