Roses in January

While friends and family at home in southern Saskatchewan, Canada are battling strong winds, icy roads, and hazardous driving and outdoor walking conditions, I feel very blessed to be able to walk outside our front door door here in south Texas to practice my floral photography on our neighbourโ€™s repeat blooming climbing rose.

The rose did most of the work on this shot, but I still thank you for this kind compliment, Edward.

I complained to my sister-in-law today (who lives near St. Louis ) that we had to deal with 40 degrees this morning. I didn’t get ANY sympathy. ๐Ÿ™‚

I learned several years ago to never complain about cool days down here to my friends and family at home in Canada. Zero sympathy there, as well, Betty. Itโ€™s hard to explain to someone who hasnโ€™t experienced overnight extremes in temperatures. When my cousin visited and experienced it herself, then she understood. Have a great evening and rest tonight and keep warm ๐Ÿ˜‰

You are indeed blessed with clement weather ๐Ÿ™‚ We’ve had weeks of rain and in some areas snow. Lucky for that beautiful rose it does not live here.

Weโ€™re thankful for what we have here for sure, Carole. Thereโ€™s often winter snow in the northern part of Texas (called the panhandle). Itโ€™s a big state. We winter over 1200 km south of Amarillo, TX which is close to the middle of the panhandle. That rose bush blooms off and on all winter long. Sorry to hear about all of that rain. Iโ€™ll bet at least some of your gardens appreciate it.
