A New Cup

Last week, for our wedding anniversary, hubs and I spent the day visiting our fave stores in the RGV in search of things both useful and whimsical as a part of our anniversary and Christmas gifts to each other.

For the next couple of weeks, as a departure from my usual Mon, Weds, and Fri posts, I’m going to just stop in randomly, and likely more often, to post things about our Christmas season here in South Texas.

This cup caught my eye at the World Market Store near here.

My Mexican Hot Chocolate actually tastes better from this fancy cup (the mind is a powerful thing).

That’s cinnamon you see floating on the top. I stirred it in after the photo and enjoyed every last sip from my new cup.

I like the colors. I’m sure hot chocolate, coffee, and tea will taste so much better in that cup.

I have a special cup for tea, and another for coffee, and now this one for hot chocolate, Edward. It’s a quirk with me and fluids. Each fluid needs its own assigned cup. I think I got that from my Dad, who had a similar tendency to assign certain fluids to their own vessels. As an example, he hated thick and heavy coffee mugs. He liked his coffee in a β€œskinny cup”, as he’d put it, meaning a thin china mug. I’m smiling now, remembering my Dad, so thank you for your comment!

Interesting! I use the same cup for all three, but I have so many that I switch them often. My mom uses those skinny cups.

We do the celebration a bit differently each year. Variety is the spice of life, right? I love the cup too and am sure it’ll get lots of use. Have a great rest of your day!

Nice cup. I’ve had Mexican hot chocolate many times. Sometimes they add tequila or rum to give it a kick.

It does taste great, Captain Morgan’s dark or regular light rum will do fine. Arrrrgh!
