Getting my Popeye On!

Carrying on with my prepared salads reviews:

This one is by Marketside and is called Spinach Dijon.

Ingredients: spinach, eggs, shredded Monterey Jack-Colby Cheese, chow mein noodles, almonds, sweetened dried cranberries, and sweet onion dressing.

The dressing is just sweet enough to cover the earthy taste of the spinach.

This salad is one of my faves in the line. If you like raw spinach, you’ll love this one!

Another interesting slad, Terry. I love the idea of cranberries and cheese

They’re a fab combo Carole! Whoever develops these ready-made salads has a great grip on how the various ingredients and flavours work together.

I would have to lose the cranberries (one of my stranger allergies 🤷‍♀️) but this one sounds amazing. Very cool and fresh! Have a great day, Terry!

Food allergies are the worst, Anne. One has to be so careful. When I was tested (years ago) my strongest allergy was to preservatives. That’s a tough one to avoid in this day and age, so I carry an epi pen at all times. This salad is one of my faves and you’re right – it’s cool and fresh. Enjoy the rest of your day!

That’s my kind of salad. I’d probably nix the noodles and lighten up the dressing to suit my taste. Love the combination of almonds and cranberries.

It’s pretty tasty. Being a foodie, I eat almost anything, so I don’t make any substitutions on ingredients in these salads. The dressing is surprisingly light and not too sweet. Have a great day, Suzanne!

I had to look up Colby cheese. I guess our orangey equivalent is Red Leicester 🙂

There are so many different cheeses here that it’s hard to keep track of what’s what. I just know that the one on this salad is very mild in flavour. Have a fab day, Lana!
