Berry Nice

This salad, by Marketside (a WalMart brand), and very likely sourced from Taylor Farms has a fresh, and only slightly sweet flavour, despite the sweetened ingredients.

This one has: Spring mix (leaf lettuce and arugula), feta cheese, herb seasoned flatbread strips, sweetened, dried cranberries, candied walnuts, and raspberry vinaigrette dressing.

Although arugula isn’t among my fave greens, the sweet bits in this salad nicely mask it.

Great! There’s a Walmart grocery store near us…my wife is really into salads, so I forwarded your post. Good one! 🙂

I hope she can find them. Maybe pass on to her as well, to check the “best before” date. We try to buy them with best before dates that are several days ahead of purchase date. That way, they’re always nice and fresh.

We call arugula “rocket” but I have no idea why! I eat loads of it as raw greens are so very healthy but it is rather bitter I find. It goes well in a fruit smoothie.

Rocket? That’s interesting- perhaps because of the shapes of the leaves?

Found this: garden plant of the cabbage family, c. 1500, rokette, from French roquette (16c.), perhaps via Italian rochetta, diminutive of ruca “a kind of cabbage,” from Latin eruca “colewort.”

I replied and my keyboard made up all sorts of nonsense. I’ll try again. These ingredients come together in a very pleasing way, Carole and this salad is among my faves.

Thanks, Anne! These salads always taste very fresh. They all have “best by” dates on them, so we get the ones that are farthest out from our purchase date. I hope you have a fab weekend too!
