Back in the Groove

Yesterday, I finally found enough time to get back into my macaron groove again.

I especially enjoy making them when we’re in Texas because there are so many special occasions we’re here for, so I can make a great variety. Our friends here also enjoy them, so there are several birthdays to make them for as gifts.

I wanted to make these for Halloween but we’ve been extremely busy since we arrived, so, because I brought the candy corn with me from Canada, I decided to make them anyways. Hopefully they’ll be acceptable as my dessert contribution for our table at the big Thanksgiving pot luck here in our park.

Glad to see these again on your blog Terry! Never met a mac I didn’t like.

You are very creative, Terry! These look delicious. I have never been to a ‘Pot Luck’ Supper.

Is it also called an American supper?

I don’t think so, Carole – because pot luck meals are also common in Canada. I consulted professor Google and apparently the practice is thought to be North American Indian in concept, but may also have British origins. Regardless, it’s a great way to provide a meal for large groups.

I say potluck too. Not that I go to any really!

Adorable! What a festive choice. I’m still wanting to try to make macarons. If I’d make it a priority, it would happen. But too many other priorities i guess. Keep posting your lovely creations and I’ll keep getting that itch! haha.

Thanks bunches, Lenore! What I love most about them is that although it’s a basic recipe and method, there’s so much you can do with flavours, colours, themes, and decorations, that each batch can be brand new if you want it to. Have a fab evening!

I think they are more than acceptable! So festive and fall-ish! And, as a dessert, it’s a nice size. Not too big. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Prepare for all the compliments about your contribution.

Thank you for your kind compliment, Betty! There will be several desserts, so hopefully these will be a good option for those who overindulge at the main meal. It’s always a massive feast, as potlucks usually are. Have a great day!
