2016 – Gal Pal Road Trip

Carrying on with the incredible travel year that was 2016:

After hubs and I returned from the all-expenses paid vacay to the Mayan Riviera, things calmed down for a couple of months, and then I headed out on a road trip to Salt Lake City with two long time friends who had joined my MLM team.

The purpose of the trip was to attend the annual conference of the MLM company I had signed up with.

In addition to being a learning and team-building experience in SLC, the road trip itself both to and from the conference was fun and interesting.

Even though none of us belonged to the Mormon faith, Temple Square in Salt Lake City provides a great history lesson about the settlement of the state of Utah.

My dear friend, Lenna passed suddenly and unexpectedly just four years after this trip.

I’m so happy I have this trip in photos and in memories.

“One of these friends passed suddenly and unexpectedly just four years after this trip. ” This is a good example of why we should learn to live in the moment.

Good for you to take that trip with your friends. So many people say “someday we will…” and never do and then it is too late. Yes, so many neat things to learn and see in the Salt Lake City area. Looks like you had a great time.

We are going to Marfa and Fort Davis after Thanksgiving, and I’m hoping to get a real picture of a Jackalope or at least a UFO. If those are not available, pictures of all the weirdos who moved there from Austin and populate the coffee shops will do. Looking forward to drinking a nice whiskey in the teepee at Planet Marfa and hearing stories about the desert.

I’m always fascinated by the beauty of the Mormon temple. It’s beautiful, and hopefully I’ll be able to see it someday. It’s great to have memories of those we love and to go back and revisit them from time to time. Wonderful photos, Terry.

It’s pretty incredible and even more-so when one learns about how it was built. Thanks for your kind compliment on the photos, Edward.

I am sorry about your friend, but glad you have these photos to remember your trip with her. Those are SKINNY horses. I looked at that photo up one side and down the other trying to figure out what was up with them. 🙄

It took me a while to realize they were some sort of sculptures, Anne. Thank you for your condolences.

Me too, but I didn’t think live horses would pose on individual bases. The whole thing was odd.

It was after sampling those macarons that my friend who passed decided she’d learn to make them. She was n excellent baker but found macarons to be too much of a challenge. After she passed, I decided to learn to make them in her memory, Lana. I’m sure that’s why I’ve had such great success with them.
