Everyday Life

This mural, also in the Cathedral Area of our Capital City, possibly speaks to times long ago (when folks still dried their laundry on a clothes line).

There were some distracting elements in the original photo, which I removed by cropping and by using the clean up tool in the native photos app on my phone.

Despite removing some of the bottom designs, I think the cleanup tool did an ok job.

Nice mural, and you’re right, the tool did a great job removing the trash cans and dumpster.

Thanks, Edward. The tool wasn’t as ocd-ish as I’d have been, but it’s ok.

Great work on that photo! Touch Retouch and Clean Up really help to clear away things we don’t want in our photos.

They sure do and so, I can’t take any credit for the edits, Charla as it was all in the apps. If I’d had more time, I’d have used the clone tool in Touch/Retouch to fix the wall a bit more. Have a great day!

My mother used a clothes line to dry in the summer. During the winter, we wore damp clothing because no one had a dryer back then. I used her line as the first zip line in the neighborhood and you guessed it..a butt busting with the Tupperware pan, but it was fun while it lasted. You haven’t lived the life until you put on a pair of jeans that have been drying in 30-degree weather, Yikes!

that is a nifty cleanup tool you have on your phone. Great the way it removed the bins which ere against the wall. I should get one for my phone. I’ve lost count of the times I have my feet or a finger in the picture.

This made me smail: possibly speaks to times long ago (when folks still dried their laundry on a clothes line).

I always peg our washing out on the line but if you live in an apartment that is not possible.

The tool is a part of my phone. There’s a good app called Touch Retouch that does a pretty good job too, Carole. I’m thinking it’s more common to hang clothes outside in Europe than it is here. It makes no difference here whether you live in an apartment or in a house … not very many clothes are hung outside. Clothes that say β€œhang to dry” get put over a hanger and hung on the bathroom shower curtain rod. Rest well tonight!

We still use washing lines in UK. I only use my rotary line on good drying days in summer, otherwise its racks up in a spare bedroom.

I think some people here still use them – but the majority of us do laundry the easy way, Lana. Enjoy your evening!

I love this mural! Too bad the garbage cans were there. That bottom corner of the mural looks like it would be interesting. Have a great day, Terry! πŸ’

I remember my mom hanging sheets out to dry. Oh, those sheets smelled so good at bedtime! Nice capture and good job editing out the trash cans!

Thanks for your kind compliment on the photo and the edits, Betty. I remember the smell of those sheets too … especially when they were hung out in the winter and came back into the house frozen as stiff as a board. Have a great rest of your day!
