Tex Mex with a Twist

We have a restaurant here that has a diverse menu featuring the chef’s take on offerings of many locales. Each dish is a bit different than what one would expect, so it’s always a pleasant surprise.

This taco salad was the menu item I tried last week. It was a treat in both presentation and flavour!

I’m preparing my palate for our upcoming winter in Deep South Texas.

That looks so delicious and made my stomach growl. HAHA The presentation is beautiful. What was the tastes that was different from a “regular ole” taco salad?

I think the main thing was that the mix of ingredients was different than what we’ve become accustomed to in south Texas, Charla. Maybe a bit more bland and the dressing was also different. All of that said, it was good!

It’s one of my faves too, Lenore and this one lived up to its presentation. Rest well tonight!

Oh yes please. As long as it is not too spicy!

This wasn’t overly spicy, Lana. I don’t mind a bit of extra spice. Hubs has come to love things like jalapeños. I’m not there just yet. Have a great evening!

I just like a hint of spice. I got some dal from an Indian vendor on my way home today as Franc is away and I could not be bothered to cook. It used to be a mild dish years ago but not so much these days. It took a while for my mouth to stop burning on.
