The Cathedral Area in our province’s capital city is an artsy-fartsy district that a person could spend an entire day exploring.

From little clothing boutiques to sidewalk cafes, to a variety of bookstores, and to art installations on the walls of both businesses and homes, the Cathedral Area holds an “old meets new” sort of charm.

In a previous post, I featured a photo of a mural that I was disappointed in because I was too close, so cut off the end of it.

I returned last week and used the 0.5 lens on my camera and voila!

    I don’t know how to attach a picture to a reply, but my son, who lives on North Padre Island, had all the classic record albums from the ’60s and ’70s painted on his canal bulkhead. He also has a surfing mural on the side of his house. I’ve painted a few murals over the years, but nothing like the one above. Nice post.

      I love that mural too, Lana. We call them ladybugs in Canada, so I had to think for a second about what you meant. It’s fun hearing expressions from other places for the same thing. 😊 Have a fab rest of your day!

    The Cathedral area holds a special charm for sure. Jen and I used to visit Aware Books, a tea store (Cuppa Tea?) and Bernard Callebaut chocolate shop on a somewhat regular basis. Good times! 😁

      Is that chocolate shop still there, Anne? I use Callebaut chocolate for the ganache filling for my French Macarons.

        I just looked it up. It’s not the same chocolate as what I use. Mine is Belgian chocolate and it sounds like the chocolate this store sells is made by Canadian chocolatiers.

        No. They changed their name to Regina Chocolates (?). Their prices went up fifty percent and their chocolates were terrible. I bought one little box for Dan and I one Christmas. We would each have one every evening and then argue about whose was worse. We loved Callebaut chocolates!
