After a full day at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, we spent the next day touring Mission San Xavier del Bac, AKA “The White Dove of the Desert”, just 10 miles south of downtown Tucson.
On this visit, I was preoccupied with photographing doors, windows, gates, and arches … any and all openings at both the mission school and this historic church, completed in 1797.
I tend to agree with that, Carole. There are definitely many modern marvels like the Sydney Opera House , but those were built with the aid of technology and modern machinery. The older structures came to be with human ingenuity and blood sweat and tears. Enjoy the rest of your evening!

Great shots! I adore old architecture. It’s clear that we missed a lot when we visited Tucson. With our fascination with national parks, nature, etc., we sometimes overlook other cool stuff. Maybe we’ll catch it next time we’re in that region (who knows when that will be???) Have a terrific day!
Thanks, Lenore! I love old architecture too. When we travel, we try to see everything we can that gives us history of the area we’re in. We’re both history buffs, so that pretty much always ensures a good experience. I hope you have a great rest of your day too!
