Summer Switch

A month ago, after checking our long range forecast (cold, damp, windy, and smokey), and assuming correctly that Iā€™d be mostly housebound, I set out to post 31 days in a row, concluding with my Fatherā€™s Day post yesterday.

Now that Iā€™ve achieved that goal, Iā€™ll be cutting back to two or three posts a week.

Summer is arriving on June 20, and with our typically short duration of summer weather here on the Canadian prairies (Iā€™m optimistic that itā€™ll improve), itā€™s time to get outside while the gettinā€™s good.

    Way to crush your goal, Terry. It looks like we have a few rainy days before we see any summer weather. Hopefully the farmers can use the moisture. Our lawn certainly can.

    It’s been summer in Texas for quite a while now. We usually have summer from May to October, then a week of fall, a month of winter, a week of spring, and then back to hellish hot weather. Why do we stay? me and Momo ask ourselves, likely because it’s a pain in the ass to pack up and move, but that may be coming soon. Possibly Colorado Springs, or maybe the mountains of New Mexico, or the desert west of Big Bend, it’s all on the table. Momo’s sister and husband live part-time in Canada, and she delights in sending us weather reports, which are always cool and comfortable. Outside right now, it’s 95 degrees with 85% humidity. I don’t know how the early Texans survived.
