    Truly Remarkable

Yesterday, my mom celebrated her 92nd birthday.

Mom moved out of assisted living to her own apartment after Dad passed, and is doing extremely well at being independent again.

Her memory is sharp, she maintains a great sense of humour, and is involved in many of the activities in her seniors apartment building.

Mom makes her own meals, does her own laundry, makes her bed and does her own light housekeeping.

She’s techy – in her nest around her chair is a laptop that she uses to do her banking, an e-reader, an iPhone, and an iPad and she tries to troubleshoot device issues on her own before asking for help.

She still plays her 12 string guitar and sings beautifully.

We’re very blessed to have our mom in excellent health in both body and mind. Aside from using a walker due to some lower extremity neuropathy, she’s determined to stay fit, to the point of being sure to log over 3,000 steps daily.

    Truly remarkable!

    Lucky 13

Today, our daughter celebrates her 43rd birthday.

It seems impossible that those many years have gone by.

She was born on a Friday 13th, and besides being Mother’s Day weekend, that usually ominous date was a lucky day for us indeed.

My feature photo is from an old one that needed repair. I used both Adobe Lightroom and Touch/Retouch for the necessary edits.

    Here’s the original:

I then used chatGPT to create a card to send to her this morning.

All I had to do was enter a photo of her, list the characteristics I wanted included, and request a birthday card with graphics only.

Once again, in less than two minutes, the app came through with exactly what I had hoped for.
