Uncomfortable Wall

The wall in my feature photo has bothered me for some time.

It was uncomfortably out of balance and felt awkward. I knew the basic thing that needed to be done (changing the elevation of the things on either side of the TV), but even when I did that, it still felt wrong.

I submitted the photo to ChatGPT, and with the suggestions it gave me, I was able to come up with an arrangement I could live with.

The pieces on the right are palm husks that I’ve painted.

These photos were taken at a different time of day (feature photo daytime with natural light coming in from the sides and this one early evening with light from table lamps coming from the front), thus the colour difference.

I had no idea you can do all that with the AI. Your wall looks very nice. Arrangements in 3s are very comforting to the eye. It looks great.

The painted palm husks are nice as they provide a touch of color! I’ve always heard to arrange things in groups of three. Looks nice!

After this and a recent post of yours, I’m pondering ChatGPT. The free image generator I use is such a pain. But I’m leery about β€œtalking” with HAL from β€œ2001: A Space Odyssey.” πŸ˜‚

Lovely chest of drawers. Presume your husks are out of direct sunlight?!

Thanks, Lana. That chest caught my eye immediately when we wanted a TV stand with a Tex Mex feel and look. We use the drawers for table linens, lap blankets, and snacks. Yes, the husks are out of direct sunlight.

Regardless of how you arrange it, I love your decor Terry.

Well thank you, Anne! I always wonder about my taste because I sure have never claimed to be a decorator. That big bureau that the TV sits on, I’m tempted to paint the same sage green as the kitchen cabinets because it’s an open plan. What do you think about that idea?

I don’t know. The wall seems a daker grey than your kitchen? You might have to run it past Chat GPT? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
