Poser

Anacahuita, aka Mexican Olive or Texas Olive is an ornamental shrub native to this area of Texas.

Although the fruit is inedible, the ruffled flowers are showy and the shrub needs very little moisture to survive and stay healthy.

Those flowers are showy, aren’t they! I think white flowers have a beauty all their own!

They really are pretty and they bloom for a long time (almost the entire time we’re here, although the blooms are most abundant in the spring and fall) It’s actually the flowers that give away the fact that it’s not a regular olive tree with edible fruit. Still beautiful though! Have a great evening, Betty!

I was so excited when we first came to this park and I saw two olive trees on my morning walk, Carole. I’d never seen an olive tree before, so I didn’t know how to spot an imposter. Now I know.

It sure does, Anne! And so much to see in between home and here. We try to take a bit of a different route each time we travel all of those miles to and from. Have a great day!
