This winter, we’ve made three trips (so far) to South Padre Island.
The first was for our 40th wedding anniversary in December and the next two trips were to show hubs’ brothers our favourite spot to visit.
Dan (one of hubs’ two elder brothers) arrived on January 18 and stayed with us for two weeks.
The day before Dan flew out, we took him to Mexico, Space X at Boca Chica and then to SPI for a sunset dinner at Louie’s Back Yard on Laguna Madre Bay.
The beautiful sunsets on the water make this my favourite spot for dinner.
Dan marveled at all of SPI. He had never been to Texas before and said that when he thought of Texas, he thought of cowboys, ranches, and sagebrush – not of oceans and beaches.
“There’s a vastness here and I believe that the people who are born here breathe that vastness into their soul. They dream big dreams and think big thoughts, because there is nothing to hem them in.”
Conrad Hilton
I can tell you love it there! And congratulations on your 40th anniversary!
