All being well, we’re leaving for points south tomorrow morning.
Hubs is chairman of our condo board, so he wanted to make sure that everything in and outside of our building was in order before heading out.
Our temperatures here have dropped significantly over the past few days, so I’m anxious to “get outa Dodge”.
My feature photo is of the main building of our winter resort at Alamo, TX.
This is the centre for all activities and includes a large dance hall/dining room, a smaller dining room that doubles as a card room, a library, a poker room, a sewing room, a stained glass room and a gym. In back of this building are the shuffleboard and pickle ball courts, the horseshoe pits, the billiards room, the pool, and the hot tub. I was standing in front of the resort’s laundromat when I took this photo (last winter). Next to the laundromat is a fully equipped wood working shop.
As I was reviewing my photos this morning, I realized that I’m more excited to get back than I thought I was. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with our winter family and to enjoying my sunrise walks in warmer temperatures again.
Photo Note: In order to get the entire building into the photo from a short shooting distance, I used the ultra-wide lens on my phone. This presented a bit of a challenge in resizing for optimal WordPress feature photo size, but I finally found parameters that worked, at the sacrifice of some quality. After resizing, I took the photo into Snapseed and added a filter that slightly deepened the sunrise. I then added a bit of brightness to lighten up the building.

Terry, this place looks and sounds great! I can understand your excitement. Safe travels, and enjoy all those warm temperatures when you get there!

It truly is a wonderful place, and a perfect fit for us. Because we’ll be hotelling it along the way this time, I should have wifi every night, so hope to post as we go vs backtracking when we get there, like I did last year. Thanks for reading and commenting and for your well wishes, Betty! Have a great day!
