Our grandson is 16 today! Where did “those” years go?

I was searching for a photo of him as a baby to send to him, and I found this one.

It was a perfect picture except for the red eyes. I took the photo into several editing apps, and even tried the larger and expensive editing programs I have on my desktop computer, only to be frustrated with the unnatural results.

Finally, I consulted Google and found a free app that had excellent reviews. The app is called “youcam makeup”. The name of it was a little off putting because I sure didn’t want to apply any makeup on our sweet boy’s photo.

To say I’m impressed is a huge understatement. Just two taps and I had the red eyes replaced, and they look very natural to boot.

I found a magical app on a magical day. We phoned our grandson at noon and had a great visit with a very caring and sincere young man. Baking a cake this afternoon for my Mom’s 88th birthday celebration at our house tomorrow will make this day all the sweeter.

Photo Note: The original of this photo was shot with my DSLR camera back when I still used one of those, and the flash would automatically engage in low light situations. I can honestly say that the occurrence of red eyes in shots taken with my iPhone is significantly less and maybe even non-existent. The only post processing I did in this photo was to correct our grandson’s red eyes.

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”
