This morning, I set out for my power walk about 30 minutes before sunrise.

My route took me along our river boardwalk at twilight.

This was at the 1K point, and I hadn’t reached my peak pace yet, so I made a quick stop for my feature photo.

I love reaching this point just before the sun rises. There is usually no wind, the river is still, and the boardwalk lights are still glowing to mark the path. It’s peaceful and serene, so it’s a great spot to welcome a new day.

Because this was early enough in my 6.5 K (4.03 miles), I was able to pick up my pace enough for the rest of my walk to achieve my goal of over 50 minutes at cardio rate.

Photo Note: This photo is “as shot”. I took a few from different angles and from both directions. This one was my favourite image. It’s always a treat when no post processing is needed. The automatic low light setting on my phone camera usually does a good job on white balance and exposure, so all I had to do when shooting was to set my focus.

“Twilight – a time of pause when nature changes her guard. All living things would fade and die from too much light or too much dark, if twilight were not.”
