When it’s cool overnight here with a warm front moving in, the river looks as though it’s steaming with the mist that rises from it.
My feature photo is of one of my walking paths near the river. What looks like smoke in the photo is actually mist from the river.
All of the elements of nature on these recent mornings are combining to offer up so much added enjoyment to my power walks.
Today, we’re heading to our capital city. It’s about an hour and a half drive from here. Usually we go there a couple times a month. The gas prices here in Canada have been so prohibitive that this will be our first trip there since we arrived home from Texas at the beginning of April.
Are the current fuel prices where you are affecting your usual travel habits?
“I love the water. Everything about it. Smelling the humidity in the air, seeing the mist rise in the morning, feeling the dew-wet grass on my bare feet. I love watching the fish jump and the geese land.

That looks like a beautiful morning. Sunny and not too warm yet – as the fog is still there. I love mornings like that. Regarding gas prices – I’d say it’s affecting us a little bit. We drive twice a week to visit my mom, and that isn’t going to change. It is 33 miles one way, and our only car is a Ford Expedition. Our June travel trailer trip is close to home as we are saving up for our big trip to Yellowstone in August. We will still go to Michigan in July. Family time. I do think we are not going on as many “day trips” while we are home because of gas prices. Hope you enjoy your trip to your capital city!

Thanks for reading and commenting, Betty! Your big planned trips sound exciting and I look forward to your posts about them! I guess fuel prices are affecting many of us in one way or another. Have a great day!

We will be packing on the miles this summer / fall. First a mandatory trip to see my mom then a long planned trip out west. This trip may be our last extended trip for awhile so we are pushing ahead. It will cost the same amount as a Viking cruise (expensive) but we wally want to do it. One change we are making is we aren’t booking campgrounds after mid Sept. That way we can be flexible and I don’t think at that point it will be so hard finding campsites.

Some trips just “have” to be made, regardless of the cost. Your idea about waiting to book campgrounds sounds like a good plan. Thanks for reading and commenting, pfiddlergal, and have a great day!

Cost a little more to see the wonderful parts of our nation. Looking forward to a re adjustment of these prices soon.
