After a longer hiatus than I had planned, I’ve resumed my morning power walking.
While we were still in Texas, I suffered an injury to my left great toe and it has taken almost this long to heal to a point where I could power walk again.
I say almost, because I could have started back a week ago, but I’m a “start on Monday” type of gal.
Because the weather here hasn’t been conducive to outdoor walks, I’m very thankful that our City has a brand new multi use facility that includes an indoor walking track. The Credit Union Spark Center opened last year before we went to Texas.
The walking track is on the second level, has a cushiony walking surface and the many big windows provide natural light all the way around.

Another bonus is that this facility is just three city blocks from our condo, so it’s a perfect distance for both my warm up and cool down walks.
I look forward to when I can get back to our outdoor trails, but for now, this is an excellent option.
“Above all, do not lose your desire to walk: every day I walk myself into a state of well being and walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it.”
Søren Kierkegaard
Great post Terry! I love the quote!

Thanks, Nadine! Hope you’re seeing signs of spring there. It looks like we have to wait a while here.

It’s super dry and always windy here this spring but it’s supposed to rain tonight… if it does, the leaves will start to pop for sure!

What a nice facility! You have the best of both worlds – wherever you are! Glad your great toe is better. I have not heard it called that before; we always call it our big toe. But thinking how important it is for walking, it is great! I also love the quote!

Great toe is a throwback to my nursing career. After almost 40 yrs full time, sometimes the common terminology slips out. It’s truly a wonderful facility. I’m going to dedicate another post to it once I’ve taken a few more photos. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Betty! Have a great day!
