While out on a recent pre-dawn walk, I saw this bright light in the eastern sky.
It wasn’t an airplane because I stopped and watched it for several minutes and I couldn’t see that it was moving. It seemed too big to be a star. I wondered if it might be a satellite or maybe a planet.
Regardless of what the light was, I was happy to be able to frame it with the palm branches. I didn’t have any lenses with me, so just used my camera’s native 2x zoom and hoped for the best.
The original (below) seemed a bit flat so I tried some different effects in Snapseed and also used my native photos editing app after the Snapseed edits.

I usually don’t do this much post processing. Today is a cool and rainy day though, so my plan is to continue to sort through photos and find a few more to practice and play with.
I like the feature photo. I would guess that this is a planet. Enjoy your Friday!

Those edits did tend to enhance everything a bit. I’m leaning towards a planet too. Have a great day, Betty! *Update* : A friend suggested that it might be the International Space Station. When I Googled that, I’m pretty sure that’s not it, because it apparently moves quickly through the sky. It’s fun to research the suggestions. I think I’m sticking with your suggestion of a planet.
