At shortly after 10:30 am on Nov 18, we stopped at Edinburg, TX for our final fuel up for the winter. We like to have a full tank in the event that we need to use our generator.
Edinburg is about a 15 minute drive from our RV park.
After no rain since our roof vent covers blew off in SD a few days earlier, didn’t the skies open up with a huge downpour just as hubs finished fuelling.
My feature photo is a clip from a video, so the quality isn’t great and it sure doesn’t show how hard it was raining. We hadn’t seen this much rain over the entire winter when we were last here two years ago and had never seen it pour this hard!
It took about an hour before we could run back out to the motorhome without getting drenched.
I was terrified to see what had happened inside with the missing kitchen fan vent cover.
Thankfully, the fuel island roof deflected most of the hard rain so there were only a few splashes on the stove and countertop.
At 12:20 pm, we finally arrived at our winter home, and despite the cold, damp afternoon, we managed to get everything set up as far as we were able to.
It felt so good to be back.

We are almost there! Hopefully, the downpour let up, and there wasn’t too much water in your RV.

It did let up, and the indoor rain was minimal. We were able to get the fan cover the next day at an RV dealership near here, and hubs installed it with ease! Thanks for reading and commenting, Betty! I’m off to my first line dancing lesson. Wish me luck! Enjoy your Thursday 😊
