While out on my last power walk, I felt that I would keep going and not stop for photos.

It was a beautiful, crisp morning and everything felt right to get a good combination of pace and distance.

At about the 75% completion mark, I saw this golden leaf cluster standing upright in the green grass.

I passed by, then found myself going back to lay on my stomach on the ground to get the photo. I was relieved that nobody else was on that portion of the trail right then. I’d surely have been dubbed the crazy leaf lady.

What pulled me back was that this upright golden leaf seemed to be begging for attention, “Look at me, in all of this green! I might be alone today, but my friends will soon join me!”

“And all the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be … are full of trees and changing leaves…”

Virginia Woolf
