These stakes with book pages perched on them have suddenly appeared alongside one of our city park trails.
The Story Walk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and was developed with the help of Rachel Senechal, formerly of the Kellog-Hubbard Library.
The idea is to engage children with enjoying reading and outdoors at the same time.
Story walks have been installed in 50 states and 13 countries.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
Dr Seuss
We have a story walk near us. The pages are displayed in stands with protective casing around the pages and are much farther apart. Someone changes the story every so often. Story walks weren’t around when my kids were growing up, but I like the idea. Always something interesting from you. 🙂 Enjoy your day.

When we’re “in the moment” and paying close attention, lots of interesting things crop up. I have almost as much fun researching the subject of a photo as I do taking the shot. Thank you for stopping by and commenting, Betty! Happy Tuesday 😊

It sure is! I’m hoping it continues. Apparently the stories can be switched out. I’m hoping that the pages in our park eventually get firmer protection. Thanks for stopping by, Nadine! Have a great Tuesday!

You as well Terry!
I think I may be an advocate for this in the future 🤔

My grandchildren love to read!
