Yesterday, I took the day off from all social media. I do that every now and then and it’s always a good break.
I spent my day reading, perusing cookbooks, and doing a bit of photo editing. Hubs was outside working all afternoon, so I didn’t even have the TV on.
I came across this photo I took a while back of an abandoned farm house and found it a bit of a challenge to set the mood.
The original was colour, but somehow looked flat. I tried several different black and white renderings, but they turned out too harsh because of the light bark on the tree.
I finally settled on this soft sepia tone filter. I don’t often use filters when I’m photo editing. That said, this photo needed a little something, and I believe sepia was the answer.

Sepia was definitely a great choice! It gave your picture the touch of antiquity!

Sepia was the perfect choice to convey a feeling of “desolation.” I like the idea to take a social media break every now and then. Even just a day away can be refreshing, I’m sure; although, I haven’t tried it. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and for your comment, Betty! I’m happy you agree with the sepia. I’ve been on a Facebook hiatus for over 6 weeks now. I truly “did” have withdrawals for the first while. I really didn’t think I could become addicted to social media. How very wrong I was!
