Yesterday morning I was finally able to get out for my morning power walk again. An unexpected April snow dumped more of the white stuff (as we refer to it here) on us in 24 hours than what had accumulated here all winter, so the trails would have been tough going.

It’s unusual to see no ice on the river, yet snow on the riverbanks. With not even a breath of wind yesterday morning, the reflections on the still water were perfect.

It felt great to be out again. My power walk was just over 4K (2.5 miles). I always do a shorter break-in after I’ve been off for a few days. This morning, it’ll be 6K plus.

I hear the crows awakening and calling me out with their very annoying and persistent, “caw, caw”!

“Snow in April is abominable,” said Anne. “Like a slap in the face when you expected a kiss.”
