The year we moved back here, there was a spring flood and the river rose so high, it was to the top of this bridge.
This is in stark contrast to that time.
With an almost snowless winter here, the farmers in our largely agricultural area, are fearful of drought conditions this year.
We haven’t yet experienced the spring runoff from the northern part of our province. When that happens, the river level will rise some, but our farmers will need more than that to have adequate field moisture.
