On a recent late morning power walk, I was at my maximum pace when something laying alongside the path caught my eye.
I stopped immediately, almost pitching forward from the abrupt stop.
As I knelt down to take a closer look, I saw that it was a tiny leaf, shimmering with frost in the early morning sun.
When I power walk, I don’t take my extra iPhone lenses along. Something told me, that because it was shimmering so brightly as to stop me in my tracks, if I could magnify this shot, there was something special to see.
I switched from my native camera app to Camera plus app, which has a macro feature, and snapped a couple of quick photos before continuing on my way.
I always complete my walk before I check any photos I may have taken along the way. Often, hurried stops don’t result in many good images. That said, I was very pleased with the details of the ice crystals in this one.
