Yesterday was my day off power walking, so I spent much of the beautiful March day sitting on my balcony, reading and just enjoying the weather.
While I was sitting outside, I received a call from the florists saying they had a delivery for me. I replied, “There must be some mistake. I never receive flowers on just any old day!”
When I went to the entryway of our building, I was greeted with this beautiful arrangement from our daughter and her family. I hadn’t even realized it was International Women’s Day, and even if I had, I sure wouldn’t have expected flowers!
As I admired the flowers, I thought with love and admiration about all of the incredible women in my life, including my Mom, my sisters, my many good friends, and last but far from least, our daughter and granddaughter.
“What would men be without women? Scarce, sir…mighty scarce.”
~ Mark Twain
What a lovely surprise!

I was going to say ‘I can imagine’ but I hardly can, especially as I don’t have a daughter and son and hubby aren’t exactly the flower type – more a shovel or a yard brush!

Yes, we’re very blessed to have a beautiful, thoughtful daughter. I got a kick out of that quote too. Thanks for commenting, Betty!
