I’ve walked this particular trail more times than I can count, and the other day was the first time I ever noticed a huge excavation pile alongside a portion of the trail.
I have no idea why I had never seen it before. It’s a huge pile – well over 20 feet high, so it’s not like it’s something that could easily be missed. It’s not new, because when I showed the photo to my hubs, he said that the pile has been there for years. Maybe it’s because I’m always on the lookout for prettier things to photograph.
Just as curious is not knowing what finally drew my attention to it. I’m guessing it was the dirty icicles. I was looking for beauty and saw something quite the opposite.

While the dirty icicles may not be considered beautiful, they are very interesting. That big rock almost looks like a giant catfish. 🙂
