When I climbed out of bed at 5am and came to my chair in the living room, this was on the table beside my chair.

Hubs and I have known each other over 50 years, and have been married for almost 39 of those years. We were best friends for many years before we decided to even date. Now, in our retirement years, we’ve become closer than ever.

Of course we argue – I think most couples do. The difference now, is that our arguments are not as frequent, not as fierce, not as long-lived, and almost always end with both of us laughing.

I feel so lucky to be doing life with the one who knows me best.

“We fell in love, despite our differences, and once we did, something rare and beautiful was created. For me, love like that has only happened once, and that’s why every minute we spent together has been seared in my memory. I’ll never forget a single moment of it.”
