The boardwalk along the little river that passes through our city is a part of one of my favourite walking trails.
It’s a beautiful spot on early summer mornings. On early winter mornings such as this one last week, it becomes just one more cold and icy place with no protection from the wind and snow.
As much as I’ve been enjoying the fresh air of wintertime outdoor power walking, I can honestly now say that the novelty is wearing off and I’m more than ready for spring.
“Silence can always be broken by the sound
Of footsteps walking over frozen ground
In winter when the melancholy trees
Stand abject and let their branches freeze”
~ Merrill Moore
I am with ya! I do so look forward to Spring. Nice picture though. I like how the street lamps are still on, but the day has dawned, albeit overcast. Enjoy your day!

Very pretty! I can only imagine how over it you are. I’m in Florida and it doesn’t get as cold here, of course, and I’m over it!

I hit send before I was finished. We’ve travelled to Fla in the winter and no, it doesn’t get cold at all there. We’re in the middle of a “deep freeze” for the next week or so. We get at least one of those cold snaps every winter – usually more than one. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!
