Despite a strong and cold southeast wind this morning, I managed to plan my route so I wouldn’t be facing the cold blast for more than a few minutes at a time.

I was able to increase my power walking distance to just over 4.16 Km (approximately 2.6 miles) in just over 40 minutes. This is a fast pace for me, considering that lots of the terrain was snow packed. According to my Fitbit data, I was in the cardio heart rate zone for the majority of my walk.

I stopped only once to take this photo to show today’s wind. The flags along the river boardwalk looked to be an apt illustration.

“Close your eyes and turn your face into the wind. Feel it sweep along your skin in an invisible ocean of exultation. Suddenly, you know you are alive.”
