I have a dear friend who makes baskets from used western ropes. This is one I recently purchased from her.
Each rope is hand washed thoroughly and then laid to dry in the sun before the basket-making process begins.
No two baskets are the same. My friend says that each rope takes on a life of its own as she begins the basket-making process. She doesn’t start with a design in mind. In her words, “it just happens as I work.”
This is an example of repurposing at its finest.

Beautiful! I like how the basket happens as she works. Sometimes that happens when I am writing a post. Enjoy the day!
