This handmade bench on one of the streets in downtown Llano,Tx is a reminder of the country style hospitality in this town that sits in the center of Texas Hill Country.

In reviewing these photos from last year, I’m starting to become more than a little resentful of the icy walks and roads here. There wasn’t a single time all of last winter in Texas where the weather prevented a morning walk.

I miss my morning power walks, even if they’re limited to the gym treadmill until spring. I’m discovering that I don’t do housebound well at all.

“Truly, the bench is a boon to idlers. Whoever first came up with the idea is a genius: free public resting places where you can take time out from the bustle and brouhaha of the city, and simply sit and watch and reflect.” ~ Tom Hodgkinson
