This antique printing press sits on the lawn of our local newspaper building.

I’ve walked past it many times without stopping to take a closer look or to even think about its significance.

After a bit of research, I learned that many consider the printing press to be one of the most important inventions in history, because it made the printed word and therefore literacy, available to all people.
