In early 2015, hubs and I did our first Caribbean Cruise.
We’ve been fortunate to enjoy a lot of travel, both while we were working and since we’ve retired.
Although we haven’t done a lot of it, cruising is, for us, a way to sample many different locales and cultures without committing to a single place we may not enjoy for a longer period of time.
One of the keen interests we share is history, so there’s never an argument about what our vacation days will include.
The photo above is of the ancient Mayan Ruins, Altun Ha … about 30 miles north of Belize City, Belize. It was such a serene place. You could almost feel the presence of the people who built these pyramids. We’re always in awe of how these structures were built before the implementation of modern tools.
Old things are better than new things, because they’ve got stories in them, Ethan.
